Higher Learning sign to 1320 Records

Higher Learning has most recently signed onto STS9’s record label, 1320 records and has released a brand new single entitled “Lok”

{From 1320 records} Tearing through space and time in a rickety Moog-powered spaceship, Higher Learning is well on their way towards the outer reaches of Jupiter. Armed only with the spirit of exploration, the four psychonauts from the streets of Atlanta, GA gaze through the haze of the cockpit out into the little-known expanse of our fine universe. Their mission, daunting as it may be, is simple at its core: to distill the cosmos into sound. Their natural abilities to endure long periods of isolation and odd sleep schedules have enabled them to strive towards this goal with unbridled tenacity. Over the course of their journey, they have performed at festivals such as Wakarusa, Moogfest and Counterpoint to sharing the stage with artists such as Tycho, Lotus, Big Gigantic, Papadosio, Bluetech and EOTO to name a few. From their collectively-twisted mind comes a sonic stew composed of liberal portions of analogue and digital frequencies – grounded for your pleasure by the familiar sounds of a live four-piece band. HL cordially invites you to join them on their interstellar adventures forward into the great wide yonder. Planets will turn, stars will die, and new stars will be born. Only one thing is for sure – you will want to hear it all.

Touring all over the south and north east US over the course of the past two years has given HL the ability to open for such acts as Tycho, Big Gigantic, Lotus, EOTO, Papadosio, Conspirator, Zoogma, The Werks, Bluetech, Mark Farina, Ott., and many more. Higher Learning has played such venues as Georgia Theatre, The National, The Music Farm, Tipitinas, The Maison, Terminal West, WorkPlay Soundstage, The Maison and Buckhead Theatre among many others. Festival appearances include Wakarusa, Moogfest, Counterpoint Music Festival, The Werk Out, Summer Dance, Gnarnia, Gratifly, Backwoods Music Festival and much more.
